Dedication Dr. Stevens is an independent, fundamental, separated, Biblical Evangelist. His one desire is to help pastors and churches. He stands opposed openly to any type of ecumenical evangelism and the Charismatic movement. He's also opposed to Neo-Evangelism. He stands for separated, sanctified, Godly living that glorifies Jesus Christ. He will come to your church solely by faith, demanding nothing. He asks only that the church do their best to care for his lodging, meals and receive a Christ-honoring Love Offering on behalf of his ministry. FAMILY BIOGRAPHY Eldon Stevens was born in Kearney, NE and was raised on a livestock farm in central Nebraska. He has three brothers and two sisters. The family grew up without the advantages of running water and indoor plumbing. While most had three rooms and a bath they had three rooms and a path. Their home was heated by wood. Bricks were heated on the stove to keep their feet warm at night in the winter. They never wore shoes in the summer until their teenage years. Eldon went to work at the age of eleven for a friend of the family for the summer. He was paid $1.00 per week plus room and board. That was the first year he wore shoes in the summer. He worked for this man four summers. They loved the Lord and helped him develop a love for the things of God. Upon entering high-school he had to find another job. The Lord, knowing all things, guided him to another man who took him in as one of his own. Eldon worked for him until his graduation from high-school. After graduation he moved to Omaha, NE to attend a trade school. There he met a young man who would later become his brother-in-law. He invited Eldon to attend his church. Dr. Stevens relates, "I was happy to go. There I heard the clear gospel. It convicted my heart. On May 19, 1963 I was born-again". The following semester Eldon enrolled at Omaha Baptist Bible College to study the Word of God and prepare for whatever the Lord had in store for him. While attending Temple Baptist Church he met a young lady named Rose Mary. She was attending Grace Bible Institute also located in Omaha. She was a farmers daughter from IA. They fell in love and were married ten months later. She has been a faithful wife willing to go wherever the Lord has led him. God blessed their home with three sons who also served with their parents faithfully in the ministry. They are all married and serving the Lord in their various churches. Rose Mary and Eldon now have six grandsons and four granddaughters. The two oldest have just related to Grandpa their conversion to Christ. What a blessing! Rose Mary has a B.A. in teaching and that was her main work for seven years while they traveled as a family home schooling their sons from week to week. She plays a beautiful saxophone. In fact, she is a beautiful saxophone player! She likes baskets and butterflies and is a very crafty lady making all kinds of neat little things. She presently works full-time as a secretary in the health care industry. She definitely has the gifts of Helps and Mercy. The one desire of their home is that wherever the Lord leads they want to be faithful. Joshua 24:15, "...as for me and my house , we will serve the Lord." |
